Cold commodities make up around one-fifth of all air freight worldwide. A sizeable percentage of it is also exported. It is more frequent and far more profitable to export goods to markets outside of the US, notably those in Asia.

One of the largest international freight companies is the Eurofreight International Group, which has its headquarters in Stockholm, Sweden. IBISWorld estimates that in 2017, Eurofreight held 31% of the global market for goods forwarding. However, it wasn't made available in the US until 2008, which is quite lately. Eurofreight purportedly seeks to gain traction in the US by expanding its global network of airport agents—the network carriers whose agents occupy the space used by goods forwarders for the agents' products.
